I often get asked if I’m a “model” and my response is always “no”. Some people have asked “what’s the difference?” Or mentioned that they believed it was the same thing. Although I pose in clothing, there is a difference between modeling and style blogging.
Modeling involves the explication of another’s creativity. A fashion line styles a model to their liking as a result to pose, strut down the runway and take photos. Style bloggers however play with creativity of their own. Give a blazer for example to five different bloggers, and they will all style the piece in a different manner. In addition to styling creativity, they can express creativity in photoshoot settings. Does one want to shoot outside of a coffee shop, with the downtown skyline, in front of an European style door?
Lastly bloggers and fashion influencers monetize their blogs and social media platforms where consumer culture for sponsorship and interaction occurs.
